What a cutie Chloe was for Halloween as a 50’s sock hopper 🙂 And even though she didn’t quite know what was going on (who are all these weird looking people out a night?), we think she had a dandy time collecting candy – even if she wasn’t allowed to eat any of it.
James and I spent last weekend in New Orleans for the wedding of an old college friend of his. It was the first time we’ve left Chloe overnight, but she had a ball with her grandparents, and we had a ball at the wedding. It was one of the most fun weddings I’ve ever been to – a mix of Jewish and Cajun traditions, a true New Orleans band, amazing food, and dancing the night away… And let’s just say our gift bags were filled with Advil and bottles of water… 🙂
Been apple picking this season and find yourself with way more apples than you’d ever want to eat but don’t have time to bake? Try this super-easy applesauce recipe – and serve it over ice cream!
10 apples – cored and peeled
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
1 tsp cinnamon
Set slow-cook on low in a crockpot for hours, stirring occasionally, until the apples become applesauce.
It’s like dessert! (and yes, although I’m quite a good cook, I’m not a crock-potter, and this was the first time I used mine – ever – quite a handy gadget, I’d say! 🙂
Enjoy!
